The Gray-headed Swamphen also know as the Purple Swamphen is an invasive species that has been seen in the Lake Apopka area. Like the Burmese Python they have been introduced into the Florida eco-system and posse a threaded to indigenous residence like the Purple Gallinule whose appearance is often confused with the Purple Swamphen.
